Smart grid (SG) is envisioned to be the next generation of electric power systems with increased efficiency, reliability, and safety. With more prevalent use of renewable energy sources, which provide irregular power levels, matching the increasing demand for electrical power with the supply is a recent challenge for the power grid. The aging infrastructure necessitates constant monitoring of the grid equipment and facilities. Considering all these factors, the need for an improved electric network to provide reliable, safe, and economical power delivery becomes apparent [1-4].
