Abstract

Large eddy simulation on unstructured meshes is very promising to tackle complex turbulent flows in real geometries of turbomachinery. The kinetic energy preserving property was used to build a low dissipative numerical scheme with strong computational stability. With the explicit SGS model, the numerical method was validated on a range of canonical turbulent flows. The low dissipative numerical method exhibited higher fidelity than the conventional upwind Roe scheme for large eddy simulation on unstructured meshes.
