Abstract

The amount of information created and used during lives of infrastructure assets is huge and diverse by nature such as in the form of architectural and structural drawings, structural calculation plans, and operation and maintenance manuals. Such information is typically created by various stakeholders involved in the supply chain. The aim of this paper is to identify and validate hazards of information loss in long term in a case of University building, which can support information future proofing. A number of interviews were conducted with a UK based key University. The research findings suggest that the hazards of information loss identified by Masood et al [1] are also applicable in a University buildings case and are worth considering in enabling information future proofing for such infrastructure.
