Abstract

© VDE VERLAG GMBH · Berlin · Offenbach. We experimentally investigate the impact of distributed PDL in a 35 Gbaud PM-QPSK optical coherent transmission system implemented by commercially available transceivers over 800 km dispersion uncompensated SMF. 60,000 random instances of distributed link PDL were realized for performance measurements.
