© 2017 IEEE. Roadmapping holds a unique position in industrially-relevant management tools: It can act as an integrative central hub to which other tools easily connect. Unfortunately, this type of application is generally not considered. Therefore, we are championing roadmapping as a platform for developing management toolkits. This positions roadmapping as a foundational building block when integrating a set of tools which are configured to address a range of corporate challenges and activities. To illustrate the premise of 'roadmapping as a toolkit platform' and provide a proof-ofconcept, this paper will report on a collaborative research engagement between the University of Cambridge and the LEGO Group which prototyped a management toolkit underpinned by roadmapping.
